Fully Loaded Chevrolet Traverse RS 2024 – Features and Price

Renowned for its commitment to quality, safety, and style, the trusted Chevy brand has been around for decades. One of its offerings, the Chevrolet Traverse, a mid-size SUV, is celebrated for its elegance and comfort on suburban streets. While its performance abilities have never been a topic of concern, the car was updated in 2024 with a keen focus on capabilities, offering a more rugged look and off-road orientation alongside new technology.

Engine and performance

All trims of the Traverse are powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with eight-speed automatic electronic precision shift transmission, offering a comfortable and family-friendly ride. This engine offers an output of 328 hp at 5500 rpm and can produce up to 326 pound-feet of torque at 3500 rpm. The front-wheel drive is standard, but buyers can opt for the available all-wheel drive that offers better traction control in rain, sleet, and snow. According to some sources, the Traverse can go from 0–60 in a matter of 6.5 seconds, offering steady and reliable acceleration for a city drive.

Fuel economy

The EPA estimates suggest that the Traverse can offer a mileage of up to 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

Towing and payload capacity

To get the most out of their Traverse RS, buyers can opt for the optional Trailering package, which increases the car’s towing capacity up to 5,000 pounds and includes a heavy-duty cooling system, a 220-amp alternator, and an additional “Hitch View” in the exterior camera system.

Interior and comfort

The Traverse has a massive and comfortable interior that can seat 7 or 8 passengers (depending on the configuration). The car also has several storage compartments that allow passengers to stow away cups and other small items. With all the seats folded down, the RS offers a storage space of up to 97 cubic feet, one of the best in this range.

In the center console, passengers will find a 17.7-inch diagonal advanced color LCD with Google built-in compatibility. This includes navigation capabilities, connected apps, driver profiles, and natural voice and phone recognition. For the sound output, the car has a 10-speaker Bose system for a clear and precise acoustic experience. The car also comes with a 3-month trial to the SiriusXM All Access package with 360L.

Exteriors

On the exterior, the Traverse RS features 22-inch high-gloss black-painted premium aluminum wheels and 22-inch all-season blackwall tires. A spare 18-inch steel tire, a mechanical jack, and tools are also included.

The panoramic power sunroof with a dual-pane that spans the front and rear rows adds another layer of suave and functionality to the car, allowing passengers to adjust lighting based on their comfort. Other notable features include high-gloss black roof-mounted side rails, upper door moldings, black body side moldings, black rocker moldings, and wheel moldings. The SUV also comes with body-color door handles, a sporty grille, automatic LED headlamps, IntelliBeam technology, heated wiper park, heated power-folding outside mirrors with integrated turn signal integrators, rear camera mirror with washer, AutoSense power liftgate, and more.

Safety and driver assistance

Chevrolet does not compromise when it comes to safety features. The Traverse RS comes with a standard, enhanced automatic emergency braking system, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, intersection emergency braking, rear-cross traffic braking, and reverse automatic braking. The SUV also has eight airbags, teen driver configurations, HD surround vision, blind zone steering assist, Super Cruise driver assistance technology, enhanced automatic parking assist, and a following distance indicator. A forward collision alert, traffic sign recognition, side bicyclist alert, speed limit assist, LED reflective windshield collision alert, rear pedestrian alert, driver attention assist, safety alert seat, rear seat reminder, and tire-pressure warning system also enhance driver safety.

Buyers also get three years of the OnStar Remote Access Plan, which allows them to start or stop the vehicle, lock and unlock doors, and check fuel and tire pressure from their smartphones.

Warranty

The Traverse RS can be purchased with three warranty options.

  • Bumper-to-bumper warranty – 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first
  • Corrosion limited warranty – 3 years/36,000 miles, or 6 years/100,000 miles rust-through coverage.
  • Powertrain/Drivetrain limited warranty – 5 years or 60,000 miles for personal vehicles and 5 years/100,000 miles for qualified fleet and commercial vehicles

In addition to this, buyers also get one complimentary scheduled maintenance visit, which can be availed within the first 12 months or 12,000 miles. Roadside assistance and a courtesy transportation service are also available.

Price

The base MSRP for the fully loaded Traverse RS 2024 starts at $57,595. This amount does not include the tax, title, license dealer fees, and other associated charges. Visit a local dealership for a better estimate of the actual cost of bringing home the Chevrolet Traverse RS.

What has two thumbs and loves 80s rock bands? This guy! The complexity of the lyrics and the ingenuity of the music to support it is what drew me to it. Telling a story in rhyme that would influence millions of people and generations to come isn’t easy, and that’s where the skill of writing comes in. Hi! I’m Vincent, and I’m a senior writer here. Contributing to the many facets of this site and mentoring junior writers is what I do here, and it’s been a great journey thus far. Ideating, creating, executing, and monitoring content is what I am most drawn to. With so much information flooding the internet, it’s heartening to have readers return to you. To choose you over all the other places they could get information from. Making this site the best in what it has to offer is one of my goals right now; the other is to eventually become a panda nanny. No, seriously!
